Upcoming mixed-use apartments on Venice Blvd near downtown Culver City

Construction begins on Palms development

By Dolores Quintana

Construction has begun on a new mixed-use apartment building in Palms at 9900 Venice Boulevard near downtown Culver City, according to Urbanizing Los Angeles.

Geneva Street Partners has been granted permission to construct the 54-apartment building which, thanks to density bonuses, will have seven floors and 3,000 square feet of commercial space on the first floor. The building will also include a 70-space parking lot below ground level and a two-storey podium.

Developers will only have to set aside six apartments as deed-restricted apartments for 55 years as affordable housing under the law agreement.

The project designer is HBA and offers a choice of studio, one and two bedroom apartments and includes a roof terrace and courtyard as amenities for tenants.

Geneva partners website states that the complex will be “located in downtown Culver City, within blocks of Sony Studios, Amazon Studios, Home Box Office Headquarters, Apple Music and Ivy Exposition Station; and across from Southern California Hospital.”
