Moe Freesemann has been named the new Music Director of Monona Grove High School. A graduate of Southern Door County High School, she said many of her favorite memories were of being on stage.
Monona Grove business manager Joe Schneider said he and others involved in the interview process were impressed with the incredibly qualified applicants, and that Freesemann’s vast experience with musical theater, as well as his track record of success, has helped her to stand out.
“Moe has the ability to connect with students and handle any situation with calm and ease,” Schneider said.
Freesemann is in his fourth year of teaching the English Language Arts in Grade 7 at Glacial Drumlin School in Cottage Grove, and in his 12th grade overall. She previously taught in Algoma, on the shores of Lake Michigan, where she conducted twelve musical productions.
“In addition to running high school musicals, I started a community music program during my tenure at Algoma and enjoyed working with actors ages six to sixty and older,” said Freesemann.
Schneider is excited to add a new addition to the Monona Grove fine art community.
“Ms. Freesemann will be another addition to an already large talent pool,” he said.
Freesemann shared that the prospect of working with MG students she taught in Grade 7 made her heart happy.
“I look forward to continuing the rich tradition of producing breathtaking performances on stage while encouraging all students to find a way to become actively involved in this team effort,” she said.
