Ant Anstead, Laguna Beach Cottage’s former dream home, up for sale for $3.3 million

After less than two years of marriage, he shelled out $2.8 million for a vintage cottage in Laguna Beach, California.

English TV presenter, car specialist, automaker, designer and artist Ant Anstead and HGTV star Christina (Haack) Hall split in the fall of 2020, after less than two years of marriage, he’s shelled out $2.8 million for a vintage cottage in low-key but pricey Laguna Beach, CA.

Anstead and Haack were married for nearly two years before their tumultuous split and the former couple share 3-year-old son Hudson Anstead. Anstead is currently dating actress Renée Zellweger while Haack is married to real estate agent Joshua Hall.

He first told People magazine it was ‘my dream home’ and later shared with the same publication his plans to renovate and update the cute button-like cottage, which sits high on a sloping plot with panoramic views, of – the ocean skyline, Catalina Island, city lights and sunset, par Dirt.

Since then, the “Celebrity IOU: Joyride” co-host has teamed up with two-time Oscar winner Renée Zellweger, who at one point rented the much bigger house across from her shrinking new lover. And, he’s changed his mind about his dream home, which went on sale this week for $3.3 million.

It’s a firming hike down sunny flagstone-paved driveways from the street-level two-car garage to the two-story residence that looks little changed since Anstead acquired it. Connected by an internal staircase, the chalet contains two independent living areas, each with its own kitchen and living room, which together measure nearly 2,000 square feet with a total of three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The two-bedroom, one-bath upper floor is bright and airy with vaulted beamed ceilings, an original brick fireplace in the living room, and an updated kitchen. A sea-breezy wrap-around deck offers plenty of space for lounging and entertaining outdoors.

On the ground floor, the one-bedroom and one-bathroom lower level opens to the front yard and features colorful Talavera tile accents. The living room is large enough to accommodate a small grand piano and the kitchen is simply updated with a porcelain farmhouse sink and vintage range.

The unique Anstead property, which is quite charming as is but also offers a lot of potential, is available through Azita Sadeghi at Compass.
